Last weekend I headed out to the center of Nevada, yes, literally the center of the state to hike Mount Jefferson in the Toquima Range.  My hiking partner was Ben Spillman with Sierra Outdoors.  If you are interested in keeping up-to-date on all matters outdoors in Northern Nevada, check out his articles in the Reno Gazette Journal, or on his facebook page here. It was a quick overnight trip out there to finish a hike that we attempted in early July, but had to turn back at that time, because of thunderstorms.  This time we made it to the top and the views were fantastic! Our tenacity paid off.  Here is a quick video summing up the experience.
